Conference 2025 Keynote
Gail Carson Levine
Gail Carson Levine is best known for Ella Enchanted, which won a Newbery honor and was made into a major motion picture. Gail has written twenty-five more books for children. Her latest, Sparrows in the Wind, is a retelling of the myth of the Trojan War. Most of her books are fantasies, but she’s also written historical fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and picture books. Right now, Gail is working on a historical medieval murder mystery that takes place in Winchester, England, in 1277. She and her husband David and their Airedale, Tess, live in Brewster, New York.

Thursday Workshop

Join us for a BONUS DAY at conference! This is a chance for you to take a dive deep into your manuscript with a mentor (conference faculty) and other writers. You’ll be placed into critique groups, and each person in the group will submit pages ahead of time to read and write down feedback. On the day of the workshop, you’ll discuss everyone’s pages and give and receive helpful feedback. If you want a specific critique group, deadline to register is September 1, 2025.

Friday Night Gala
ANWA presents the Annual Conference Gala Friday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Theme: Books and Blockbusters
Come enjoy an evening of casual fun while rubbing shoulders with other authors and our special guests. Dress up as your favorite book or movie character…or not. You’ll fit right in either way.
The Gala is included for all In-Person Attendees.
